Inside/Outside Exam Room Tablet Drop

Drops are terminated into RJ-45 jacks, centered 48"-56" above the floor, with ~3" clearance from signage, trim, etc. Drop locations are set by your Stat representative and clinical/operations team.

Termination

These drops are terminated into RJ-45 jacks. In existing facilities, the jack is typically left terminated into a single-gang low-voltage bracket, as shown below. In new construction, an electrical box with conduit is often used. These drops are generally centered 48"—56" above the floor.

Existing Construction, 1' slack is typical.

Locations for Drops

Your Stat representative(s) and your clinical/operations teams will determine the locations for these drops. Typically, the outside room drop will be on the handle/strike side of the door.

The inside room drop will be located near where the care teams do their charting in the room, which varies based on the exam room layout. All drops should have ~3" clearance from nearby signage, trim, etc.
